The Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies forms part of the School of Modern Languages and Linguistics.
We are a medium-sized Department, large enough to offer a full and varied range of courses yet small enough to remain intimate and informal in our teaching and social activities.

We are one of the leading departments of Slavonic Studies in the country, with staff who have proven international reputations for research and publication in their fields.
The 2008 RAE has confirmed our status as one of the three top UK research departments in the field, with 70% of our research rated as world-leading or internationally excellent.
